“Capital Circle Development Forum” was held ceremoniously
 

With the theme of “Advancing Regional Economic Integration in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei”, 2011 Capital Circle Development Forum was held in Beijing Kaiyuelai Hot Spring Convention Center from December 3rd to 4th 2011. This forum was sponsored by CUEB, organized by the College of Urban Economics and Public Administration of CUEB, Scientific Research Office, Beijing Economic & Social Development Policy Research Base and Beijing CBD Research Base and supported by Capital Economic Development Research Institute, Peking University, Research Institute of Regional Economy and Urban Administration, Renmin University of China, Binhai Research Institute in Tianjin, Social Sciences Academic Press, China Economic Publishing House and Negchina.com. Relevant governmental officers from Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, university experts and scholars and hundreds of teachers and students from College of Urban Economics and Public Administration, School of Economics, Banking College and College of Business Administration of CUEB assembled in Beijing, and focused on several important issues based on the theme, such as the development trend in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei during the period of “12th Five-Year Plan”, economic restructure and industrial upgrading, evolution and optimization of space structure, bearing capability of resource and environment, creation of capital economic circle, construction of Tianjin Binhai New District, capital-rim green economic zone and Hebei coastal development zone etc. Media such as 21st Century Business Herald, The Economic Observer, Negchina.com, Chinanews.com, attended and broadcasted the forum on live.
Professor Zhu Erjuan, Chief of Capital Economic Research Institute, College of Urban Economics and Public Administration of CUEB, hosted the opening ceremony, and Professor Ding Lihong, Vice President of CUEB made an opening speech. Professor Wen Kui, former President of CUEB, gave a keynote speech and addressed the closing ceremony. Li Jianping, Vice Director of Beijing Planning Office of Philosophy and Social Science attended the forum with his colleagues and gave a speech.
There were altogether 21 well-known scholars expressing their academic ideas based on the theme. At the closing ceremony, Professor Wen Kui concluded the form. He indicated that the cooperation in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, was a long-term systematic project, requiring scientific argumentation, wide publicity, governmental promotion and participation of society and enterprises. The Capital Circle Development Forum, sponsored by CUEB, had been successfully held for five years and received much attention from governments and academic circles in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei. It also played an important role in pushing forward the development of regional economics disciplines in CUEB. He hoped that leaders, guests and scholars could keep on supporting this platform and jointly deepening the theoretical research and academic exchanges, and advancing the development of Regional Economic Integration in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei.
