2010 Capital Circle Development Forum
 
From November 6th to 7th, the 2010 Capital Circle Development Forum, organized by CUEB, was held in Beijing. About 100 experts, scholars and students specialized in capital circle development problems from more than 30 institutes located in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei were present at the meeting. Meanwhile, various media, including BTV, Beijing News, Beijing Youth Daily, Beijing Daily and Life Weekly reported the Forum.
On the morning of November 6th, Professor Ding Lihong, Vice President of CUEB, hosted the opening ceremony. Professor Wang Jiaqiong, President of CUEB, delivered an opening speech at the ceremony. He pointed out that CUEB’s principle was “Focusing on Beijing and Serving the Capital” and pushing forward the integrated development of capital circle was our university’s inescapable responsibility.
The theme of the forum was “Building up World City and Promoting Capital Circle Development”. There were altogether 20 experts, scholars and government officers from Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei giving keynote speeches.
Professor Wen Kui, former President of CUEB, made a comprehensive and precise conclusion at the closing ceremony. He emphasized that the rational distribution and scientific orientation of city clusters in capital circle was the only way to solve the problems of population, communication, resource and environment and it was also the foundation of promoting capital circle’s economic development. However, many relevant problems need further researches by experts and scholars in the capital circle. He hoped that with the support of all different social sectors, the Capital Circle Development Forum would be better with more distinguished features, greater influence and higher quality to contribute to promoting the comprehensive and integrated development of the capital’s economy and society. On November 7th, some experts and scholars visited Geothermal Museum Park located in Wangzuo Town of Fengtai District and Bayi Movie Base.
